From his arrival at Joelson in early 2015, David hit the ground running having worked for the firm many years before at the beginning of his legal career. The experience he gained back then (acting for the likes of Gordon Ramsay and Marcus Wareing) led him to new pastures (running several successful law firms, H2o Law and Twenty Twenty). He rejoined Joelson with over 25 years’ experience and knowledge to help steer the practice to its current position. At the weekend, David can be found kicking a ball around in London Fields, swimming at the lido with his two boys or watching a band. David is a trustee of Noah’s Ark Childrens’ Hospice.

David heads up the Legal 500 top-ranked employment team at Joelson, advising both employers and senior executives.

David is individually recognised in the prestigious Legal 500 independent guide and has been listed in the Telegraph’s Super Lawyers Guide. He is also a regular contributor to the FT.

With a background in ground breaking heavyweight litigation (including securing victory for the families of the Omagh bombing victims in their landmark civil action against the Real IRA and for victims in the Almog v Arab Bank litigation), David now specialises exclusively in employment law and has scored an important victory for UK employers in the Sunrise Brokers v Rodgers case in the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court, where he obtained an injunction to block an employee joining a competitor without the employer having to pay salary.

Expertise

David gives “unstuffy and commercial” employment advice to employers across a wide range of industry sectors. He is currently working with employer clients from the insurance, media, professional services, fund management, hospitality and travel sectors.

David also regularly acts for senior level executives on their disputes, moves, claims, contracts and exit negotiations. He gives tactical advice with a focus on reputational protection.
