Reema qualified as a solicitor in 2010 and advises both employers and senior employees on all areas of employment law.

She provides employers with tactical and strategic advice on a range of issues from how to handling complex grievances to successfully guiding clients through the disciplinary procedure to avoid tribunal claims.  Reema also has considerable experience in dealing with sensitive issues relating to sexual harassment, pregnancy and maternity rights, poor performance, sickness absence, discrimination, whistleblowing, redundancy, restructuring, data subject access requests, TUPE and defending tribunal proceedings. She regularly reviews and drafts bespoke employment documentation including settlement agreements, consultancy agreements, contracts of employment, GDPR documentation and staff handbooks to ensure that they are in line with current legislation. Reema provides tailored in-house training to clients and other HR practitioners on diversity and inclusion as well as general practical training sessions for managers on how to handle day-to-day HR issues.

Reema also regularly advises senior level executives on a wide range of employment issues including exits and employment tribunal claims. She also has experience of advising employee clients on new employment contracts and in particular, the likely enforceability of restrictive covenants.

In her spare time Reema enjoys playing the odd round of golf and exploring different cultures when travelling abroad.

Recent matters include:

  • Conducting a full audit of employment documentation for a client, tailoring the documents to their specific sector;
  • Successfully defending a complex Employment Tribunal claim for sexual harassment;
  • Guiding a client through a restructure and dealing with potential discrimination issues arising as a result; and
  • Negotiating favourable exit packages for high profile senior executives.
