Posted Tuesday 27th April 2021

Joelson has advised TheVeganKind on its £3.5m Series A funding round from Literacy Capital plc. TheVeganKind is the UK’s biggest vegan supermarket and subscription box supplier.

The investment highlights the continuing demand for plant-based products and TheVeganKind will use the investment to grow its infrastructure, team and improve consumer experience. This is a significant deal in the vegan space with it being the largest ever funding round for a UK vegan retailer.

The Joelson team was led by Phil Hails-Smith, Corporate Partner.

Kate Inshaw, Financial Director of TheVeganKind, said:

“We thoroughly enjoyed working with the Joelson team and benefited from their previous experience to ensure it went smoothly and seamlessly. We are so excited for the next phase of our business to continue to help make veganism mainstream. We are delighted and appreciate all the hard work that went into making this a success.”

Phil Hails-Smith, Partner at Joelson, added:

“It’s been a real pleasure to work with TheVeganKind on this Series A fundraise. It’s a statement for the plant-based industry in the UK and will allow TheVeganKind’s reach to expand and grow into more products, areas, and invest in their people, infrastructure, and marketing. We look forward to seeing it’s developments and how it evolves.”
