Sponsor Licence Compliance

Posted Thursday 5th February 2026

The Home Office will begin accessing HMRC data from April 2026, marking a significant shift for UK Sponsors.

It is essential that all Sponsor Licence holders are aware of their Sponsor duties on reporting and recording keeping as discrepancies will be far easier to detect leading to enforcement action.

Uk Visas and Immigration have increased scrutiny of organisations sponsoring overseas workers.  Between July 2024 and June 2025, 1,948 licences allowing companies to bring in migrant workers were revoked – more than double the number in the previous 12 months (937).

The Home Office has indicated that enforcement activity is set to increase further through 2026.

The takeaway for sponsors is clear: ensuring robust alignment across both immigration and HMRC compliance is now essential, not optional.
