Joelson, the leading London law firm, has advised Information Security Media Group (ISMG), an intelligence and education firm focused exclusively on cybersecurity, on their acquisition of QG Media, a global leader in enterprise technology conferences and exhibitions.
ISMG stands as the largest media organisation globally dedicated exclusively to cybersecurity and risk management. Across its 37 media entities, spanning from North America to Southeast Asia, it delivers education, research, and news customized for various vertical sectors like banking, healthcare, and the public sector focusing on topics such as data breach prevention, cyber risk assessment, AI, and fraud.
QG Media is a global supplier of advanced B2B conferences and digital content tailored for technology leaders, with a primary emphasis on cybersecurity and IoT (Internet of Things). They bring together business leaders to showcase thought leadership through the use of high quality presentations, interviews, and webinars.
With the acquisition of QG Media, ISMG will offer over 500 events across a range of formats for its global audience of senior practitioners and its sponsors and allowing QG Media to extend their coverage globally to additional regions.
Joelson team was led by Managing Partner, Phil Hails-Smith supported by Paul Chiappe, Managing Partner, Associate Emma Vantine and Solicitor Moses Akanmu.
Sanjay Kalra, CEO at ISMG, commented:
“We extend our gratitude to Phil and the Joelson team for their outstanding support and efficiency in working with us on this acquisition in the UK. Even though ISMG has operated in Europe for over a decade, cross-border acquisitions are a tough-play, more so adding a footprint in 10 different countries under one transaction. Joelson team’s support through the process made this seamless, and their advice and diligence have provided us with confidence every step of the way. We look forward to working with the whole Joelson team in the future.”
Phil Hails-Smith, Managing Partner at Joelson, added:
“We are thrilled to have played a key role in ISMG’s first UK acquisition of a majority stake in QG Media, a prominent player in enterprise technology events globally. Working closely with Sanjay Kalra and his team has been a real pleasure, and we appreciate the trust of one of the largest global media organisations in our legal guidance and our commitment to efficient collaboration. We look forward to continuing our support for ISMG as they pursue further expansion and international growth.”
