Joelson advises My Emissions on £1.3 million fundraise

Posted Tuesday 23rd April 2024

Joelson, the leading London law firm, has advised My Emissions, the London based tech start-up and the official carbon labelling partner of Just Eat, on its £1.3 million fundraising Seed Round to become the go-to platform for carbon assessments across the food industry. The round was led by Hambro Perks, and supported by Love Ventures, the angel syndicate Raspberry Ventures, and industry angel investors.

The Co-Founders, Matthew Isaacs and Nathan Bottomley, established My Emissions in 2021 with the aim to decarbonise the food sector, which currently represents one third of global GHG emissions. My Emissions addresses the need for food companies to affordably measure emissions of individual products and accurately report their annual scope 3 emissions. The platform reports at an unparalleled speed, primarily through its integrations with existing recipe management, inventory management and POS systems, so food companies can focus on their reduction strategy.

This fundraise will enable My Emissions to expand their team and grow, providing food companies with exactly what they need to reduce emissions and achieve their net-zero targets.

Joelson team was led by Managing Partner, Phil Hails-Smith supported by Senior Associate Chinedu Onuchukwu and Associate, Daniel Burke.

Matthew Isaacs, Co-Founder of My Emissions, said:

“The Joelson team supported us throughout our £1.3m Seed Round. They were always on hand when we had a question or needed an issue resolved, and helped us close ahead of schedule. Thank you to Phil and the team!”

Phil Hails-Smith, Managing Partner at Joelson, added:

“We are delighted to have worked with My Emissions on this funding round, another deal that highlights our significant expertise in the impact and ESG space. We always get great satisfaction from helping start-ups with like-minded values to Joelson, grow, scale and succeed on their journey.”
