Joelson, the London based law firm, is delighted to announce that it has advised Sustainable Ventures on a significant £3 million investment by Barclays, to help support their continued growth and expansion, increasing their professional services offering to innovative sustainable businesses.
This funding, led by Barclays Sustainable Impact Capital and other investors, is a key step in the growth and development of Sustainable Ventures, enabling it to secure its position as the leading accelerator programme connecting local initiatives, entrepreneurs and capital.
This expansion will help the region of Manchester, the fastest growing UK tech hub outside of London, in meeting its accelerated 2038 net zero target, whilst delivering inclusive green jobs and boosting the economy.
The Joelson team has worked with Sustainable Ventures for 10 years and over the last few months to secure this transaction. The team was led by Phil Hails-Smith, Managing Partner at Joelson and supported by Emma Vantine, Associate.
Andrew Wordsworth, Chairman & Co-Founder of Sustainable Ventures commented:
“This is a great milestone in the evolution of Sustainable Ventures. This investment from Barclays will help us to take the business to the next stage of growth and enable us to expand regionally – starting with our Manchester hub in 2024.
We’ve worked with Joelson for over 10 years and they have delivered for us again on this deal. A big thank you to Phil, Emma and the whole team. We look forward to continuing our partnership with them over the coming years.”
Phil Hails-Smith, Managing Partner at Joelson, added:
“We are delighted to have supported Andrew, Chris and the whole team at Sustainable Ventures on this deal. This is a key milestone in the development of Sustainable Ventures and with a significant investor like Barclays it gives a great platform to grow and expand whilst delivering on its mission to support the new generation of start ups and scale ups in the sustainability space. A great team effort from all involved at Sustainable Ventures and the here at Joelson and we very much look forward to supporting Sustainable Ventures as it continues to grow and expand in the coming years.”
