With 95% of 70 companies involved in the four-day work week trial reporting that staff productivity had either stayed the same or improved since the beginning of the trial, a 100 UK companies have pledged to make the adjustment permanent.
This decision will mean that their employees will be working fewer hours without losing any pay. It is likely that as many companies sturggle to meet demands for pay rises in line with inflation, flexible and part-time arrangements like a four-day working week will continue to become the norm.
