Joelson, the leading London law firm, has advised the shareholders of Butcher’s Pet Care, the pet food and treat business, on its sale to CapVest-owned Inspired Pet Nutrition (IPN). The team at Joelson have worked with Graham Baker and the management team at Butcher’s for a number of years and this transaction illustrates the continued strength and growth potential of the brands which Butcher’s have developed in wet dog and cat food.
Family-owned Butcher’s was founded by Graham Baker in 1987 in Northamptonshire and over the last 4 decades it has grown both in the UK and internationally. The Transaction which combines the IPN and Butcher’s brands will enable the Butcher’s business to continue to grow and expand both in the UK and internationally with the complimentary products also offered by IPN.
The deal with CapVest-owned IPN illustrates the continued growth and consolidation in the pet food market and the value of trusted quality brands for consumers.
Joelson team was led by Partners, Phil Hails-Smith and Matt Overton who were supported by Senior Associate, Chinedu Onuchukwu and Associates Sylvia Lau (Shuk Fan Lau), Annabel Mockridge and Emma Vantine.
