Copyright Infringement

Copyright Infringement

We advise clients in respect of infringement of their copyright, which if allowed to continue can severely diminish the value of their brand and business.

We are adept at successfully seeking and defending interim injunctive relief applications and have successfully prosecuted and defended copyright infringement claims in the High Court.

Experience includes:

  • Acting on behalf of BCPL Limited, owned and founded by Caprice Bourret, in the successful defence of an action brought by Ashley Wilde Group Limited for alleged copyright infringement; Ashley Wilde Group Limited v BCPL Limited [2019] EWHC 3166 (IPEC).
  • Acting on behalf of a well-known IT provider, defending a claim for software copyright infringement and successfully settling the same.
  • Advising various brands within the Retail and Fashion sector in connection with various copyright disputes.
  • Advising a major international television network in connection with a copyright dispute with a leading English television network. A settlement was negotiated whereby payment of an undisclosed sum was made and the offending television network agreed to not use any of the client’s copyright works in the future.
