The Investor visa is designed for high net worth individuals who are looking to relocate themselves and/or their family to the UK.
Following the Home Office’s decision to close this route with immediate effect on 17 February 2022, it is no longer possible to apply for entry clearance as an investor. Potential investors have instead been encouraged to explore the Innovator route, which is also due to be updated this year.
Individuals already granted an Investor visa are still able to extend their clearance for a further two years and apply for indefinite leave to remain after five years continuous residence. The required period to qualify for indefinite leave to remain is reduced to three years for individuals investing £5million or more in the UK, or two years for those investing £10million or more. Dependants may also still be added to existing Investor visas.
